901 Market Tower

901 Market Tower is an 82-unit luxury apartment building located on Market Street in the heart of downtown Wilmington, Delaware. Before the complete building renovation, 901 Market Tower had seen many different forms over the years. The initial 6-story construction of the building was complete in 1892. By the 1950’s, 901 Market Tower had reached 14-stories and had become a combination of existing masonry and new steel framed construction. By the 1980’s many of its historic exterior features had been stripped away.
The new design was aimed at restoring the traditional look while using contemporary materials. The project was able to display some of the buildings historic detailing such as the bank deposit boxes in the lobby and many steel and masonry elements throughout the apartments. Other features of 901 Market Tower include first floor commercial space, a fitness studio, community room, and a roof top deck. The project team also lead the process to make 901 Market Tower Fitwel Healthy Building Certified.
